I am the object of my affection

I don’t usually make a concerted effort to spread the word about my own bottomless well of talents, but neither am I going to look a gift horse in the mouth when it gallops my way. Like everyone else who has ever picked up a package of polymer clay and fallen in love with it, I am a devoted reader of Polymer Clay Daily, Cynthia Tinapple’s lively blog which highlights and links to the astounding work of countless polymer clay artists.

No one could have been more surprised on Friday to see the highly flattering remarks she made about this blog and my own work in polymer clay. And when you view the jewelry and sculpture of the many other people she has mentioned — and you can wile away a long and very pleasant day doing this — it’s pretty nice company in which to nestle, however briefly.

So, I plan to enjoy my 15 minutes of fame for a few days, and revel in being called a “lovely combination of wry humorist and crazy neighbor,” because next week it’s gonna be all about blending into the scenery again.

For the other polymer clay zealots who are reading this because of Cynthia’s post, here are some of my clay-related entries that might be of possible interest to you:

  3. Sometime I want you to show me what you currently have for sale.

  4. P.S. You have too much personality to blend into the scenery.

    • That was written very diplomatically . But yes, come over and we’ll play show and tell.

  5. Love the blog!

    • I’m glad you like it.!

  6. And how about the fact that you are a gifted PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER (the L.A. Times featured you as Cassy Cohen, but what the heck..so doth marriage make cowards of us all) who got me a FABULOUS price on my Lalique pieces by photographing them so gorgeously???? AND your ability to turn photos of private homes into wonderful bound books for the owners of said homes? What about that, huh? Huh? Huh?

    • Can anyone tell that this is a very very good friend of mine? Thank you, Martha.

  7. Dang. I hunker down for some serious work and look what I miss!

Cassy, you deserver to be in Polymer Clay Daily daily!

You do make a mean cane and you are a terrific road companion, as long as we’re NOT going north on the 605 in the slow lane!

    • Thanks Nancy!

I should write Toyota about the Scion’s crappy passenger side shock absorbers, but I think they have bigger fish on their plate to fry than my tiny car right now.
