One of my first professional photography portraits

Thirty years ago, I bluffed my way into a job at Eastfield College, in Mesquite, Texas. I was hired as chief photographer — the only photographer — in the junior college Audio-Visual Department.

I hate to say it, but this is one of my all-time favorite photos. I almost fall off my chair laughing every time I look at it.

But if I could apologize to these people today, I would.

  1. I love any story that begins with, “I bluffed my way into…”

Priceless! I’m sure they were all lovely people in person.

    • This is clearly written by a friend of mine (and thank you very much).

  2. Apologize why? It’s not your fault everyone looked like idiots back in those days! I just wish there were a Nehru collar in the bunch. (Or was that a different era? I can’t remember.) I love the picture! Are you sorting & reminiscing? Is this an-approaching birthday exercise? (If it’s just that you’re in an organizational frame of mind, you could come visit and fix my house! It’s always easier to do someone else’s…)

  3. No apology needed
